Blue Crabs’ Virbitsky and Hammerberg Named to Post Season All-Star Team

Vibrisky and Hammerberg Named All-Stars in Both Halves

(Sept. 30, 2026, Waldorf, MD-)The Atlantic League has announced the Post Season All-Star team today, naming Blue Crabs Starter Kyle Virbitsky and Reliever Ethan Hammerberg as All-Stars for the second time this season.

Virbitsky was the Opening Day starter for his second season with the Blue Crabs and he established himself as one of the league’s best pitchers nearly immediately. He was named to the Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star Team back in July and he maintained his strong performances throughout the year. The 27-year-old right-hander finished the season with two legs of the pitching triple crown, leading the Atlantic League with 12 wins and a 4.41 ERA while he finished seventh with 109 strikeouts. For the season, the Media, PA native ended the year with a 12-8 record over 132.2 innings pitched.

Hammerberg dominated out of the Southern Maryland bullpen, serving as the Crabs’ setup man for most of the season. Like Virbitsky, he was also named to the Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star Team. The 25-year-old right-hander finished the year leading all pitchers with at least 43 innings pitched with 13.97 strikeouts per nine innings and a .165 batting average against while finishing third with 13 holds. He also picked up a pair of saves. Over 41 appearances, the Columbus, OH native had a 4-1 record with a 1.68 ERA, 75 strikeouts, and a 0.97 WHIP.
